Busy Times

No blog for the past several weeks, as we have been very busy! We have 3 auctions coming up next week. 143 acres on May 24th, 240 acres on the 25th, and 76 acres on the 26th. Busy week, but hopefully a good week. We also have 322 acres scheduled to go to auction in July.

I just listed 60 & 76 acres in Linn County, and 98 acres in Hardin County. Listings, not auctions. Good dirt with good returns. The land market is still very strong, with demand outpacing the supply. I'm working on another 240 acres in Hancock County, and 183 acres in Hardin County. Also, possibly a farrow to finish hog setup may be listed in the next 60 days.

I attended the 90th annual Soils Management and Soils Valuation meeting in Ames last week. It was a great meeting, with some wonderful speakers and information. I had an opportunity to visit with peers regarding the farm real estate business. It was hard to imagine that this was my 40th year at that conference.

Our office remodel is almost complete! We just have some details to get completed, but I'm really happy with how everything is turning out. Thanks to my daughter, Shawna Beaubien, for her great work to get it completed with some great ideas. Thanks also to my Office Manager, Dara Carter, for her input and ideas. We will have an open house hopefully in July to show our new surroundings.
